La Berge Ombragée,
the small shady campsite right on the Dordogne
It is still possible, camping the way camping is meant to be. In an informal, pleasant atmosphere, you can enjoy and unwind in a rustic campsite. Surrounded by overwhelming nature and located directly on the Dordogne.
La Berge Ombragée has 50 large camping spots on an area of more than 2.5 hectares. Where children still have enough space to play.
The many trees on the site not only provide a pleasant shade but also invite you to hang your hammock. Nice to do nothing and just relax on the Dordogne.
Camping with a little more luxury? That is also possible in our Safari tents.
Camping La Berge Ombragée is located directly on the river where the current is not strong. In the middle of the river, even at low water, you can swim «just» while the children can build dams in the shallow end.
We have a cozy bar almost right on the river. You can go here for an ice cream or a nice drink. You can order your baguette, croissants, pains au chocolat, etc. here every day. The next day, the order is ready for a leisurely breakfast.
Our small campsite is located in the green department of Corrèze with beautiful hiking trails and endless cycling or mountain bike routes. Forests, waterfalls, views and clear lakes alternate, crossed by “the Dordogne”.
It is wonderfully peaceful, quiet and everywhere in the countryside are picturesque villages where it seems as if time has stood still and the quiet French life passes by.
